LEGO Star Wars Sith Infiltrator™ Microfighter

Another large break between posts. I'll make another long-form write up of my thoughts on this kit.

Part 1: Main Build
Well the main build is the only build, so this'll be short. The Infiltrator was quick to assemble.  The ship consists of three major sections, the main body and two wings. The wings attach to the body via a clip-and-bar connection. The trapezoidal pieces that provide the shaping for the vertical wings have a gap between them that sandwich the main body's horizontal wings.

I appreciated the copious trans-clear pieces used for the build. There are trans-clear plates used everywhere from the two bottom stand-offs to pieces used to fill out the internals of the ship. The main stars are the trans-clear red cheese slopes used for wind screen as well as the trans-clear green tile used to represent the ship's propulsion. Two stud guns are well integrated under each of the stubby wings. They are easy to  access during any type of "swooshing" action.

Part 2: Mini-fig
Since this is Darth Maul's ship, only makes sense the mini-fig is the man himself! I've never had a Maul figure before, but I was adequately impressed with this one. The face, torso and legs printings were all very nice. The head-disc used to give maul his horns is a rubbery material so the horns shouldn't break. It was a bit fiddly to line up the disc printing with the one on his face.

I was a bit disappointed with the lack of his signature cape though. Maul does come with his double bladed saber though! This was the first light-saber I've bought recently that came with a bubble defect. Seeing as this used to be a signature effect of LEGO Star Wars when I was younger, I don't find that as such a big deal.

Part 3: Conclusions
For $9.99 this is a nice micro fighter kit. Maul looks get either in his ship or on display. The ship is the right size for easy swooshing and the stud guns are in spots that are accessible during play. I'd give this kit a thumbs-up!
